Cowork HQ Setup
Your Cowork setup should be designed to give Claude access to specific folders. We recommend using a folder structure that gives maximum use and benefit for your business.
Cowork Settings
Copy and paste these into Cowork’s instructions (Settings > Cowork) to prevent accidental file changes and keep your workflow organized. Think of them as training wheels you can remove later.
## Prevent accidental damage
- Before deleting, overwriting, or renaming any existing file, show me what will change and wait for confirmation.
- Never modify files outside the current working folder unless I explicitly ask you to.
## Keep things organized
When creating new files, use the naming format YYYY-MM-DD-descriptive-name.
At the end of a task, list all files you created or modified with their locations.
## Control the pace of autonomous work
For multi-step tasks, outline your plan first and wait for my approval before executing. After each major step, briefly summarize what you did and what's next."Aboutme.md
Use the following prompt in Cowork to help generate your aboutme.md file.
I want to create an aboutme.md file for my context folder. Please ask me clarifying questions one by one about my role, my business, my target audience, and my core goals until you are 95% confident you can achieve the objective. Once you have enough information, synthesize my answers into a two-paragraph summary and save it as aboutme.md in my Context folder.Brandvoice.md
Use the following prompt in Cowork to help generate your brandvoice.md file. This file should include examples of your tone, writing style, frequently used words, and words you never use. Provide sample documents you have written without the assistance of AI.

I want to create a working_preferences.md file. Ask me questions to understand how I prefer my documents structured, my default output formats, and how you should handle ambiguity when you aren't sure what to do until you are 95% confident you can achieve the objective. Once you understand my preferences, save this as working_preferences.md in my Context folder.EmailHQ Workstation
Use this prompt to create an Email HQ workstation and pull your editorial rules from your sent folder.
Create a workstation called Email HQ following the workstation creation instructions in my root CLAUDE.md. Then connect to my Gmail and populate the Editorial Rules by analyzing my sent emails from the last 4 weeks.
**Step 1: Create the workstation.** Follow the "Creating New Workstations" instructions in my root CLAUDE.md. Create the Email HQ folder with CLAUDE.md, MEMORY.md, and an Email HQ Resources subfolder. Set the Identity to: "You are [my name]'s email strategist and drafting partner."
**Step 2: Scan my sent emails and populate Editorial Rules.** Search my Gmail sent folder for the last 4 weeks of sent emails. Analyze them and extract only email-specific patterns that aren't already covered by my root voice principles. Specifically:
1. My default greeting (e.g., "Hi [name],").
2. My default sign-off (e.g., "Best, [my name]").
3. How I adjust formality based on recipient type (team, clients, brand partners, fans). Give me 2-3 concrete observations, not generic advice.
4. Any recurring conventions I use (e.g., how I open replies to cold outreach vs. ongoing threads, whether I use "Thanks" vs. "Thank you," whether I bullet or prose).
Do not restate anything already in my root voice principles. If a rule already lives there, skip it. Add these to the Editorial Rules section of Email HQ/CLAUDE.md.
**Step 3: Add the routing entry.** Add a row to my root CLAUDE.md routing table: "Email HQ | ...need to draft, reply to, or review any email."
When done, show me what you found and what you wrote to each file.Project Files
Download these .md files as a starter for your project. These will be updated based on your use and instructions.
