The National Ranger Memorial Foundation started with some notes during a conversation between two Ranger NCO’s. A simple sketch on a paper napkin at Ft Benning, 1991, would ultimately inspire the formation of the National Ranger Memorial Foundation and the conceptualization of the Ranger Hall of Fame.
The Foundation has served to perpetual support and maintenance of the monument and provide modes scholarship to Rangers and their families.
The Challenge
The National Ranger Memorial website was in need a redesign to live up to its mission. With the design outdated and navigation that was confusing, the site did not capture users. It was not effectively telling the Memorial story. This resulted in low user engagement, lack of awareness, which ultimately impacted donations. The Foundation needed a website that honored the Rangers and functioned as a powerful fundraising tool.
The Solution
Using story to communicate the mission and vision of the Ranger Memorial Foundation, we set out to redesign the website. We used a story framework to help users gain a better understanding of the beginnings of the Foundation, while engaging the user. The images and graphics used were designed to capture the origin story and build emotional connection to the user.
The navigation was optimized for user experience. The structure and order of the way users move through the site was developed to help move users through the engagement to donor funnel.
The site was designed with a mobile user experience in mind. All the content, navigation, and images were structured to ensure an excellent user experience across any device.

It was important that the new site redesign have a mobile experience that was device agnostic and provide a positive user experience.
Beautiful designs right in your pocket
The beautiful design that carries the story was captured on mobile. As you scroll, the images, text, links, and forms adjust to create a simple and elegant experience.
Navigation that was easy to use
A challenge with mobile configuration is maintaining a simple to use navigation. We met this challenge and provide a navigation solution that provides users with easy access to content.
A major objective of the redesign was to increase donation and fundraising efforts through the website. We developed a series of donation processes, sponsorship solutions, and merch shop. These have helped generate additional donations and revenue for the Foundation to maintain the memorial and provide scholarships to the Ranger community.

Website Traffic Increase
Website traffic soared by 283% after the new site design launch. That is a remarkable 3x increase in site visitors in the first quarter after launch. We were able to capture attention and help tell the Foundation story to three times the number of people.
Social Media Buzz
We provided social media management for the foundation to build and grow their audience. We saw Facebook engagement explode by 387.4% during the first quarter after the site launch. This has resulted in a 4x increase in the Foundation reach on Facebook.
Instagram say a 14x growth. With compelling images and story, we were able to see a 1,400% increase in reach on Instagram for the Foundation.
Financial Support
The online donations surged over 850% during the first quarter after the site was launched. The story telling, images, and optimized navigation resulted in a 9x increase in online donations through the website.
Beyond the Numbers
While the numbers provide a compelling picture for the redesign of the Foundation website, the true impact goes beyond statistics. The website is a hub for Rangers and their families. The monument is reminder of the men and women who have served our country as Army Rangers.
